The lab has just returned from the annual British Society for Cell Biology meeting, held in Warwick.
The science was good and the company was excellent. Things I learned:
(i) We need to encourage more members of the BSCB to turn up to this! Although there was a session on Cell Division, not that many UK labs came. (ii) Buzz Baum has a lovely group of people working for him; and he's a demon on the dance floor. (iii) If you turn up to the BSCB AGM, you're likely to come away on the committee. All in all, a very productive, interesting and fun time was had. Photos to follow.....

Despite going to the conference with the intention of taking lots of pictures, the combination of having a phone with 30 minute battery life and the high level of alcohol consumption means the only pictures I have are of Faisal and I standing awkwardly in front of our respective posters and a couple of Jack clutching a bottle of wine.

We need to motivate more associates of the BSCB to convert up to this! Although there was a period in the Mobile Department, not that many UK laboratories came. Hype Baum has charming individuals operating for him.
