Mitosis in a Drosophila syncytial embryo

Drosophila syncytial embryo expressing alpha-tubulin GFP (green) and His-RFP (red). Therefore the microtubules that form the mitotic spindle are seen as green and DNA as red.

EB1-GFP FRAP

The microtubule plus end protein EB1 tracked with a GFP tag, with one image at a single focal plain taken ever 600ms. A single mitotic spindle is photo bleached using an argon laser and rate of recovery viewed with altered  threshold levels for clarity.

3D Image of a Fixed and Stained Drosophila Embryo

A Drosophila embryo is methanol fixed and stained with an anti-tubulin antibody (green), a anti-aurora A antibody (red) and Hoescht (blue) for DNA. Multiple focal plains have been visualised, with the images obtained projected into this 3D movie.
